Exclusive - Grammy-nominated afrobeats superstar Asake's Canadian debut concert set for April 12th
The long-awaited and highly anticipated Canadian concert debut of Afrobeats sensation Asake takes place at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on April 12 and at Edmonton’s Rogers Place on April 20th.
Presented by HunterTV Africa and produced by 925 Agency Inc., the 2023 Grammy Award nominated artist whose smash single “Lonely At The Top” - that also featured a popular remix with Grammy-winning R&B vocalist H.E.R - hits Canadian soil for the first time, after becoming the first Nigerian musician to reach one billion Spotify streams.
Last August, Asake joined his peers Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid as the only Nigerian artists to sell out the legendary 02 Arena in London England.
"This is not just a concert; it's a celebration of afrobeats, culture, and the unity that music brings,” says Oderinde Abiola, CEO of HunterTV Africa.
“We are proud to be pioneers in promoting and producing a show of this caliber." Adds Tinesha Richards, founder of 925 Agency Inc: "We're dedicated to creating experiences that showcase the diversity and brilliance within the Black community.
This concert is a testament to the power of collaboration and the magic that happens when like-minded creatives come together."
Asake’s early blowout career success has also led to him being listed number five on the Rolling Stone music’s Future 25 list alongside GloRilla and New Jeans.
Having recorded a lengthy string of chart-topping hits including “Omo Ope", “Amapiano”, "Mr. Money", and "Sungba", in addition to appearing on hit records alongside Sarz and Gunna (“Happiness”), Asake’s electrifying live performances (seen recently on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert ) transcends borders and celebrates the global appeal of afrobeats.
Adding to the excitement is dynamic Toronto-based DJ collective Kuruza. Renowned for their ability to blend diverse sounds and keep audiences on their feet, Kuruza will set the stage on fire with a fusion of afro-beats that will undoubtedly amplify the energy of the evening.
Asake's Canadian concert debut kicks off at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on April 12, followed by a second performance at Rogers Place in Edmonton on April 20.
Tickets for both shows are available now, and organizers encourage fans to secure their seats early to be part of this historic event. Don't miss the chance to witness history unfold. Tickets for Asake's Canadian dates are on sale now at Ticketmaster.
